Hello Everyone!

So I was recently fortunate enough to interview and hang out with the lovely lads of Between the Trees. Let me first start off by saying how incredibly nice these guys are. So I will tell you all about my two hours or so with them.

I got into Red Bank around four o’clock and I met the guys at the internet cafe. We all became introduced and had decided to walk around town for a little bit. I took them to my favorite music store on the planet, Jack’s Music Shoppe.. which has been inhabited by the likes of Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen and now Between the Trees. We spent a few minutes in the guitar shop while the guys looked around at a bunch of equiptment. After I headed upstairs to the sheet music department and was soon joined by Ryan. We talked a little bit about singing and voice lessons. We also talked about the video he made when he was recently sick, saying how it was a little funny. He stated that it was meant to be funny, but people thought he was dying. But never fear people, Ryan is very well. We headed back downstairs and the rest of the guys were looking at CDs and DVDs, remarking on how expensive the store is. Welcome to New Jersey ;).

So we left the music store and headed towards Starbucks until Ryan caught a glimpse of the most awesome store in the world, Funk & Standard. We all went in, and the guys were able to see the complete awesomness that is F&S. They ended up buying a sweet Dumb & Dumber poster (which was later left at starbucks).

Next we went to Starbucks. Ryan got tea while the rest of the boys got some type of latte. After a few minutes we decided to walk back to the venue, at which time Wes was so cunningly trying to convince people to go to the show later that night. Then, out of nowhere, Brad walks into a parking meter, which I have to say is the funniest thing I have ever seen in a really long time. We got back to the venue and all sat down for the interview (which will be posted in the next week or so for you to read/hear).

After the boys went and grabbed dinner, then when they came back I had asked Ryan to sing “She Is” acoustically for my mom (who is in the hospital), since I couldn’t stay for the show. So we walked back to their trailer so he could get his acoustic, and he sang the first verse and chorus for me on video. After that, I unfortunately had to leave to go to the viewing of my nephew.

At an extremely stressful time in my life, these fine young men were able to temporarily relieve my despair and remind me that life must go on.. and for that I am truly grateful.

I would like to thank the guys of Between the Trees, especially Jeremy, for making this interview possible, and Ryan for singing acoustically for me while not warmed up. I would also like to thank David McKenna for setting up this interview.
